"The participants were very enthusiastic about taking part in this activity and active during the question and answer session," he said, Thursday (4/25).

Siti explained that Bogasari is a vital national object that contributes approximately 50 percent of flour needs in Indonesia. The participants were provided with material ranging from company profiles, product types to processing processes from raw materials to finished goods.

Then, they were invited to take part in a cooking demonstration on making bread and sponge cake and visit the Bogasari Flour Mill plan, which is the largest mill in the world with a production capacity of 3,000 tons of flour per day.

"Participants gained many new insights. In fact, they are also given special knowledge about how products are available, quality and good service," she explained.

Assistant Manager Public Relations, PT ISM Tbk Divisi Bogasari Flour Mills, Rudi Pangaribuan, said apart from the site plan, participants were also given knowledge about the production process from a number of wheat raw materials into one final product.

"We provide knowledge ranging from crushing, filtering, fortification, or adding additives to produce high quality flour," he said.

According to him, the residue from these raw materials can become a product that is once again valuable on the market, both for animal feed, wood glue and even building materials.

"This knowledge is important for participants who will become entrepreneurs in the future to maximize the value of a product, including remaining raw materials," he added.

Meanwhile, one of participants from Tanjung Priok Sub-district, Adam Malik (26), admitted that he was grateful and happy to be able to take part in Culinary Management training at PPKD North Jakarta and take part in industrial visits.

"I took part in the training for 45 days, I gained a lot of knowledge from basic cooking/food processing techniques, knowing cooking recipes to practicing coffee making. I will develop this knowledge to create a business after the training," he admitted.
